Wet Mounts vs Dry Mounts
Wet mounts and dry mounts are two different ways to make a microscope slide. Wet mounts contain a little bit of water in between the coverslip and slide, while dry mounts only have the specimen inside of it. The two processes are used for different specimens.
Uses for Wet Mounts
Wet mounts are usually used for looking at cells. I personally find it very useful for looking at leaves and flower petals.
Uses for Dry Mounts
Dry mounts are usually used for looking at things that are too fragile to be placed in water. For example, dust particles would probably become unobservable if a wet mount were used.
